Hello, do you have info about rispolept?
I read at some of the higher doses, it can cause hallucinations
Better off using Pamelor. I would never take trazodone. It has a window of sedation, if you don’t try and fall asleep about an hour after taking it it can stimulate you. Pamelor (Nortryptyline) always worked better. My best friend Klonopin works way better.
Having lots of nasal congestion and water retention edema so stopping it.
Priapism is hell guys – avoid it at all costs if you're a male.
Is 50mg Trazodone just for sleeping? The doctor gave it to me, but I'm not feeling sleepy, and I feel sedated and have a bit of a headache. Does anyone who uses it have this happen too?
Your thoughts of trazadone for anxiety depression
I developed serotonin syndrome from 200mg Zoloft, 100mg Trazadone, 60mg vyvanse, nicotine vape, 400mg + of caffine a day, smoking weed, and then set off by 2.5g of shrooms I took the night before. I went to the ER by abulance and they diagnosed me with cannabinoid hyperemisis syndrome (wrongly). I was still on almost all these meds (minus the vyvanse) for about 3 more months and several ER trips before a hospitalization lead the pediatric hospitalist to taper me off of eveyrhing. It’s been almost 7 years and I’m still struggling because I was given more meds I didn’t need.
I just got put on this for sleep.
There are no side effects so far. But DuLoxetine al.ost killed me, never helped my pain either. I'm off it now, praise God.
Muscle spasms in the legs. These occurred for me when I took trazadone. The spasms kept me awake for hours even though I was sleepy from the trazadone. I didn't figure it out until months later when I decided to stop taking it as an experiment to see if it was responsible.
Worst medication ever – coming from someone who has terrible insomnia and has tried almost everything.
Prescribed Traz for sleep/insomnia. Lowest dose though. Has taken me from 4 hours of sleep, to 9 uninterrupted sleep. I do feel if not for my alarm, i could sleep 12 hours but so far… no grogginess or complaints yet. Ill check in 6 months from now.
What about lunesta, no hangover but i eat at midnight no sleepwalking that i know of
Bad groggy brain like massive hangover.
Then last fall pain dr tried to prescribe for sleeping lol
I said i have e bottles of trazadone and gabbipenton from our vet lol
I threw them all in the trash !
Yup. They love this one in the detox I was wrongfully sent to. Doesn’t do shit after a few times. It’s insane. These people didn’t know shit about my case and just fed me more pills and hoped I’d stabilize. It’s fucking malpractice. Negligence.
I took trazadone once and I felt like I was coming out of my skin never again!!!
I was prescribed Trazadone a few different times years ago. It worked pretty well for insomnia, and the only side effect that I ever had was mad munchies, which can be bad, because you're taking it to help you to sleep! Lol.
The only other thing that I can add about Trazadone is to make sure that you are in bed for the night, and ready to go to sleep, because there is only a short "window period" where the drug is effective for sleep. If you go beyond that window period, and you're still awake, then it is not going to do it's job of helping you to sleep. My window period was usually about an hour, if I was still awake after about an hour, then the Trazadone had lost it's effectivness for the night…I would just have to try again the next night.
The dog of a friend of mine was given trazodone post a Spey surgery for a week, I couldn’t believe it.
I am 54 years old and have had insomnia for as long as I can remember (I'm guessing from ADD because I have a hard time "shutting my brain off"), so most of my life, and a few years ago, I was prescribed trazodone, and I hated it. I am hoping that one day, I will find something natural to help.
I am a retired veterinarian and I have noticed that most veterinarians are prescribing Trazadone and gabapentin to dogs and cats who are nervous or aggressive. They are seeing a paradoxical effect and are increasing the dose or are adding other off label medications. I am very concerned about this trend.
Be aware: not everyone can metabolize these drugs effectively. I took a small dose of amitriptyline (Elavil) along with some other psych drugs. During treatment, my doctor ran a blood test to make sure all was well, and she found that I had toxic levels of the amitriptyline in my system—I don’t know what that might’ve done to me…and I’m glad she caught it quickly! No more drug cocktails for me.
Just took it for 3 nights and already experiencing visual snow and tinnitus. I halfed the dose last night and think I will not take it again. Unfortunately I did have one amazing day after full sleep and the antidepressant and anti anxiety effects were very noticeable for me. Felt really good. Never taking it again though, can’t risk vision and tinnitus.
Good overview.
WebMD states that priapism is also a rare side effect of the AD Celexa – Citalopram.
“Rarely, males may have a painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 or more hours. If this occurs, stop using this drug and get medical help right away, or permanent problems could occur.”
Seroquel is basically the only sleep-aid that does it for me that’s not a CS. Perhaps look into flexeril for sleep?… brainstorming
I posted this in another video also …. I was recently at an animal shelter looking for another dog. The lady there told me the dogs I see will act differently once I get them home and tapered off of their Trazodone. I was completely shocked!!!! She said they put all the dogs in the shelters on trazodone.
Thank you for your videos. You know more than my idiot doctor knows.
I recently had a prescription for 50mg trazodone that I took for about 2 weeks for seriously life ruining insomnia. It was okay the first night but then slowly over several days a sort of restlessness started building up that got worse over time until it was intolerable. I've had this problem for a few years caused by coming off of clonazepam 3 years ago. I've tried nearly every insomnia medication and last week I started on lemborexant which has been a godsend. I don't feel like I've taken anything and just feel naturally sleepy, then sleep for 7 to 8 hours and wake up feeling refreshed with no next day hangover or tiredness. Thank the various gods, the old and the new, for lemborexant. What worked best before this for the most sleep was amitriptyline but it always sucked the life out of me all the next day with horrible fatigue and tiredness. I'm so glad I don't have to take that anymore.
