I quit for almost an entire year. Just a few weeks shy of a year. I did it to reduce migraines which it worked wonders for. Beyond that, I really didn't physically feel any positive effects. I actually found it very hard to stay motivated to do what I need to do everyday as a busy mom. I was draggggiiing. Some days worst than others. The negative was that without that energy boost from caffeine, it was interfering with my ability to keep up on my house work. I just couldn't find the energy to do everything I did in a day when I was drinking caffeine. I introduced it back into my life in the last month. I drank a coffee everyday for about 2 weeks and in those 2 weeks I got more done in my house than I had in a month before that. And I also got back on my workout routine consistently which was also suffering without caffeine. After those 2 weeks, I cut it out again because I could feel my headaches creep back in. I'm going to experiment with drinking caffeine just a few days a week and see how my migraines stay away. I will saying that after being caffeine free for almost a year, those 2 weeks of drinking coffee, it hit me strong and good. So I'm definitely caffeine sensitive, with the migraines and all but also after being off of it for so long, when I did drink it it worked wonders.
I cut diet soda and this and feel nothing.. I just yawn all day and can’t sleep now
Caffeine is overrated really it is I sleep better and I have better recovery from the gym feel more hydrated able to control my hunger and anxiety better
I'm getting off of caffine and doing pretty well. 1 week before starting to taper off, I had only home juiced juice for lunch. This juice had beats carrots tumeric, ginger, orange, green apple spinich, garlic and burdock root. Sometimes I add pineapple or chineese squash for blood sugar help.
Anecdotal, but I felt this readied me to taper off.
Not to the point…
I’m going to try and give it up, too many side effects. Hard to sleep and makes me have to use restroom every hr or even every half hour
Porn and alcohol
Day 1. Feels strange but not punishing.
Just quit. Trust me you'll feel so much better. And not even want to go back.
The reason you pee more when drinking caffeine isn’t because it has a diuretic affect. It’s because it is a poison and your body is trying to flush it out. It’s also why it causes bowel movements. There’s a reason there are coffee shops on every corner and nearly every scene in every movie has some visual representing coffee. Either a Starbucks cup, a scene containing a coffee shop, or shots of a coffee machine in the background. By the way, Bill Gates who is trying to depopulate the world is part owner of Starbucks. Coffee and other caffeine containing beverages are not a harmless.
I got worse akathisia and dyskinesia
Having worked in a coffee company for almost a year with free latte to start off the day every morning, I have to try to stop coffee so that I don't feel too tired at night.
Anybody else notice an increase in what I think they call "reflexive stretching"….you just kind of stretch out naturally…oh like you might see a cat or dog do?….just a good stretch for no reason at all.
11:29 think you meant to say physiological instead of pathological
I always knew it was bad for you. I just can't get off of it. It's the only joy I have in life. I was able to give up cigarettes very early on. Coffee is a real monkey on my back. Tried millions of times to get off of it….always fail.
I drink a cup of coffee most days. Have incredible focus, energy, sleep. Quit once for 30 days and didn’t notice any benefits to quitting. I do think taking a break for a day or two is beneficial every now and then
Ive been up for 3 days on coffee. i still think caffeine is not bad
A headache-I have Dementia caused by dopamine blockade ?Someone said -In moderation its ok ?I am on Anti Convulsants ?I cant come of them ?3 Types ?
Hi Thomas, do you think I could replace Coffee with decaf ? Or does this also have a neagtive effect on the body and mind. Best wishes from Germany, Michael
I'm caffeine free for 40+ years (never liked). So now I suppose need to start drinking to experience all this
I'm 54 and have been addicted since childhood. I'm finally thinking about what life would be without it. I know I would have to ween off because the headaches will be brutal.
The only reason I don’t cut caffeine out of my life is because it really helps my performance in the gym. Especially since I have to get up early to workout. If I didn’t weight train, I’d probably drink maybe once or twice a month.
Day 7 and my legs are so sore
Dude your biceps are huge!
I didn't hear you mention your face at all. Did I miss It?
Coffee is bad mmmkay?
Thank you for covering this topic! Years ago a doctor took me off caffeine and prescribed a protein shake in its place. I asked, “won’t I be tired?” and was told the protein would give me energy… and it was true! Surprisingly didn’t have any significant withdrawal symptoms. I was then off caffeine for years and am now back on it, but now weighing the pros and cons of quitting coffee this year during Ramadan (month of fasting) like I used to. After watching this I’m leaning toward quitting — then at the end of the month see what happens
