I had problem with alcohol in my late teens. (19) I was drinking a fifth of Jack/Jameson+ some beers and wine every day for 6 months. I was reformed alcoholic for a decade and had it under control, getting drunk once a week. Recently I have started drinking every day again up (for ~6 weeks) until 3 weeks ago, when I messed up. (Lost all my money gambling whilst drunk) The withdrawal this time is horrible, doctor diagnosed me with pre-DT and I have to take 6mg Xanax every day now. I decided to stay off booze for 1 month, but may do so for longer as the withdrawal experience is much worse than the one I had in my late teens.
i think you need to explain to people that theres more to alcoholism than a hang over. is this to help people you kinda ramble on. dont make alot of sense.
I have no idea how, but I had zero withdrawl… and I definitely should have.
I spent a big part of my life either drunk or hung over. I quit 5 or 6 years ago, for no reason, I just lost my desire to drink. I have to force down a beer now, used to drink between 12 and 24 on week nights, and a good amount more on the weekends.
I'm 43 off 2 5 years…. its early Easter Sunday and I'm heading off on a hike with my son…… a sober life is the only life!!
In youre 40's it's even more worse, im done, tis is me second week of being sober, no more hangover s, no lost days, no headache anymore.
I've had some horrid hangovers in my teens and early 20s. I can't imagine how much worse they could be. Hopefully I manage to stay off it this time
Your sharing is so powerful. If you feel thereβs value Iβd like to hear about what makes this quit different for you. Anything different going into this quit? How much if sober communities do you participate in? Thanks for the content.
