Does anyone know where to buy the canary cheese? it's really good
Another great video.
That landing was foul😂
You seem to forget, you’re flying economy….wtf do expect?….seriously….stop the nonsense
That price is unreal. We paid almost $3,000 for roundtrip from St. Louis to Tokyo via Minneapolis from late September to mid October.
I have always loved Delta’s service. Pre-pandemic I had an incredible economy flight from Miami to Rome on an A330 with Delta. Post-pandemic I’ve had plenty of domestic economy flights with Delta but have also treated myself to some domestic First Class flights. Their A321-NEO first class from LAX to MIA was awesome. Comfortable, spacious redesigned seat and IFE. More recently, earlier this month, I flew Delta domestic FC from MIA to BOS. This was a much different experience because the plane was 20+ years old and the layout reflected that. I have to say though, the flight crew and meal service were phenomenal on that flight and despite the aging cabin, my flight was superb.
That's some horrible looking food
This is probably as good as it gets for a North American airline!
Very interesting video. I never knew about Northwest Airlines' history in Tokyo, that is amazing! Also great product review, and I'm looking forward to trying it out for myself on Delta's refurbished A330-200 from DTW to FRA this summer.
I still question Delta's commitment
Delta is commencing daily non-stop flights between Seattle and Taipei from June 2024 with their Airbus A330-900ER, which I'm about to fly in economy in a week when I made this comment. I'm glad that I came across this review to know what to expect during the flight. Thanks for the Brutally Honest video!
So much for that direct flight to PDX resuming in the fall of 2023 (big sigh).
Recently discovered this channel and it has become one of my favorites for travel reviews. Good history plus food and seat reviews. Thank you.
To view Mt Fuji when arriving in Tokyo, sit on the right side of the plane?
I love delta
We had our first long haul flight on Delta in Spring 2023. We will not flying economy on long haul flight ever again. It was very uncomfortable. We were in the middle row. We lost one of our connections because a delay. The team at the counter was very rude and careless (JFK 💀) Delta then pay back for our hotel room that night which was great. I think I will travel Delta again just don’t do economy again and don’t do Boeing’s 😅.
I find your assessment to be fair. That said, that was a really cheap ticket, so no real reason to complain, given that.
i'd be interested in buying calendars of your pictures
The issue is Narita has a bigger network for connection vs Haneda
Northwest(Orient) Tokyo base and flights where just great! Flew on the wonderful 747-200's to Singapore, Seoul and Hong Kong. NW should have merged with Continental!! And not the arrogant DELTA. Egyptair in economy class serves double the food what Delta serves.
I was on this flight in business that time the security was crazy
I'm going to Asia flying from SFO to BKK on Korean then to Viet Nam on Vietnam Air and home on Phillipine Air Total $1019 r/t. . I much prefer the international carriers and avoid United. If I don't find a good flight then Drora is my go-to. .
I get more legroom on Korean and better food and drinks. For instance complimentary brandy on Philippine Air.
I got free seat assignments,2 free checked bags What Else do you want?
Just my 2 cents
I'm surprised how quite the engines are! Thank you for the video and the information about NWA and Tokyo. I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture, trains and aviation. I hope to see more videos of you.
YOOO i fell asleep watching this at 3 in the morning, then that landing jolted me up!!!
No I don't think your Buddhist calendars will go over.

How are the takeoffs so smooth in your videos.
I flew Delta between Seattle and Tokyo Haneda in September 2023, traveling from Portland Oregon. Delta always impresses me when it comes to customer service whether domestic or international. Unfortunately, Delta completely dropped the Portland-Haneda nonstop flights and sold the Haneda spot to United for them to use it for Haneda-Honolulu flights, however might return due to Alaska-Hawaiian merger.
@simplyaviation – did this flight use reverse thrust upon landing in Los Angeles?
Excellent video. I agree since the pandemic delta has been doing some noticeable cost cutting especially in economy class when it comes to catering. Other airlines such as UA & AA give substantial more food in economy then delta such as a bread roll cheese with crackers. It's unfortunate because if they had continued their practices from where they left in early 2020 they would definitely have been the best of the best. Now it's just basic as you mentioned and would only fly Delta if the price is right.
13:43 yes
Would you fly on Delta or Japan Airlines?
On my next inter-continental flight I have to nick an amenity kit from business or first class during disembarking when the crew isn't looking.
That sunset view of Fuji on your takeoff was breathtaking
Honey, the food is basic BECAUSE YOU’RE IN ECONOMY! Want a fancier meal onboard? UPGRADE.
Great content and yes, I enjoyed the history.
Wow this trip you took was amazing! And yes I saw your picture shot when you climbed out of Tokyo with the city lights below and the sunset off in the distance, perfect shot and
very beautiful. I would be interested and would love that pic in a calendar.
I could careless about the food all I care is being on time reliability I always pass on food I will eat a nice restaurant when I get to my destination.
I live in Seattle but I grew up in Western Japan(Shikoku) so our family's preferred route was Osaka KIX-SEA, which was operated by NWA, and that's why I mainly fly with Delta on US/JP.
I flew to Japan twice post pandemic. SEA-HND and back with DL for personal trip 2022. SEA-LAX-KIX with Alaska and JAL for business 2023(and took dayoffs to visit family). All Economy seating.
Overall DL was great and I still prefer them but JAL had THE best meal and services I ever had.
I absolutely hated LAX's long walk and over complicated transit through constructions.
HND is super convenient to use with abundance of domestic flight options or even access to shinkansen from Shinagawa.
NRT is bit too far away from Tokyo-Metro area but still usable and good option if tickets are cheep and you're familiar with Japanese.
KIX is and will always be my preferred choice but DL still hasn't reinstated US flight and JAL's LAX flight lands around 7pm so unless you're staying in Osaka-Metro area, domestic transit will be a bit of issue.
I long for the day Delta reinstates SEA-KIX direct flights… I really need them back…
I would love to have a calendar from simply aviation. That would be amazing!
DELTA AIDS AIRLINE SATANS AIRLINE. FAKE IT WE FUND IT DELTAWAY
Simply Aviation. Simply the best channel of its kind!
Why did they end so many flights after the merger?
Super video, thank you
I must say, I have been quite disappointed by the food service in the economy from Delta… I by no means asking for a full-on course meal in economy, but the food portion is rather small, and the breakfast is just a single snack.
They have a snack cart for economy??? Wow!! And that meal service presentation wow!!
Delta's Portland <-> Haneda route has been DROPPED.
I guess when you fly Economy you can't expect any more than a "Basic" experience. Not sure they are any airlines left that provide more than a Basic service in long haul economy
I flew delta Santiago-Atlanta-Haneda on March on economy. Santiago-Atlanta planes were great but the Atlanta-Haneda planes had tape on the floor and were super old 😣 I am grateful for the free wifi for texting tho but I'm surprised they still have old looking planes for long flights.
