As a teenager I followed a practice of drinking for six months a year and abstaining for the rest of the year. By the age of thirty I could no longer understand the attraction of Alcohol and disliked the changes I noticed in friends around me as they continued drinking. I think that the world would be a much better place without it and I think it is as destructive as any illegal drug if not worse. I know my view is not a popular one but it is how I feel.
I will once in a blue moon have a single margarita with Mexican dinner. And the other blue moon is one horse beer with Thai really hot pad Thai.
I never started drinking, so I never miss it!

The late Carrie Fisher was once asked by a reporter if she missed drinking and replied, "only every day". Trust me, the only thing worse than having a drinking problem is what it does to your loved ones. Just look at how her death killed her mother, Debbie Reynolds, too. I salute those who willingly give it up and hope more are inspired to kick the addiction.

The best thing about this video, is the surprising number of actors who give very cogent reasons for not drinking, one being is that they have found themselves. This may appear strange, considering that they spend their working life, being someone else. May we reflect, as to whether the dress, hairstyle, glass in hand, overweight or anorexic figure, is the real you, or just an image taken from, a novel, film, singer or whatever.

I believe Jennifer Lopez because if you have ever known anyone who drinks and/or smokes heavily it definitely catches up with them when they hit a certain age and almost overnight they look about 10 years older or worse!

I'M 58 – Never had had one drink of Alcohol or Coffee. People at my office always ask to see my drivers license because I look 35-40. Full Head of Dark Hair & Dark Short Beard. Young face with zero wrinkles. Still have 20/15 vision (better than 20/20). No reading glasses. My 5 year younger brother who used to drink about what most people do and more on the weekends looks much older than I do. People always think he is my father because he's half bald and almost all grey. Not counting all the wrinkles he has on his face. His eyes & memory are going as well. I see when we go out to restaurants he pulls out reading glasses and also to use his iPhone. We both have the same genetics. That is pretty much the main difference between us. Alcohol really ages you.

I am not at surprised that the celebs mentioned don't drink, they are among my favourite actors! I got bored drinking alcohol, although I was only a light consumer. I decided I wanted to experience life first-hand and that I had enough confidence not to drink that stuff anymore.
In addition, there is also an associated cancer risk for both men and women who drink alcohol, better off being caffeine-free tea or coffee total. Win win!

It takes a lot of mental strength, and I finally stopped drinking in 2008 cold turkey, it was easier to do then smoking, and I stopped that in 2009.

Well said, you don't have to get drunk to be somebody. Some people become a totally different person Either sweet and kind orl they want to fight. It doesn't take long to figure it out. Why get drunk for one day
