I have low platelets and my oncologist tells me to take B complex. I have a blood test every 2 months and my count is still low but not dangerous low. I figured what the hell so I did the Meyers cocktail IV. After a week I feel no difference but looking forward to having a blood test is several weeks to see if it made a difference in platelet count. Oh well, hoping for the best.
I had the Myers cocktail one time after having the stomach flu. It really helped. I had to speak to a nurse practitioner before doing it to make sure I was a candidate for it.
Surprise surprise the doctor doesn’t like them.
I think you should stay in your lane because you obviously dont know what you dont know.
This is interesting, I would consider it after along flight, because I always get leg cramps after longer flight.

You are a doctor so you know that these IV fluids are not just fluids. They have added vitamins and minerals that go directly into your bloodstream and not right out of your butt! There is very low oral vitamin absorption compared to IV or IM. Most docs are for it. This was informative but the oversight is done by a doctor as the Director and most have RN's and other certified credentialed staff infusing. Thanks for your time guys. By the way I'm a 30 yr RN.
Getting ripped about in the comments .. ha I think doctors are a little out of touch with reality sometimes!
Sounds like a hater lol
We don’t have evidence yet we use them in the hospital interesting.
If I go in feeling like trash and come out feeling better I’d say it works.
B. I’ve been dehydrated and instead of paying a hospital 1000 dollars I can go spend 200 and get hydrated from the same nurse that works at the hospital
You said you were going to weigh the pros & cons of IV Hydration…
I didnt hear any pros at all but many cons…
Plus, you obviously never tried IV hydration… neither have I…
Im just saying, other than telling us the risks (including that its pricey and not covered by insurance), you're judging something you've never experienced… I feel i just wasted 9 minz of my life listening to this…
You should really do your research before coming out here and talking about it. Not all people that needs IV has to be in hospital, urgent care and out pt give IV. You should read about holistic care more.
Everytime i went to hospital I got more sick and doctors dont know shit. Stay away from them
IV hydration works if you’re seriously dehydrated and malnutrition.
Dr. Jen, I think we should take the patients objective opinon on how these treatments help, a lot of patients use these treatments because of their lifestyle. I do believe they should be monitor by a Liscenced Practitioner.
She lost all credibility when she says that vitamins can’t be used to help treat Covid, yet hurt like every other doctor can provide no actual treatment for Covid
I work outside and I got dehydrated and thought I was going to die so I went to emergency and they did iv on me and I’m telling y’all I never before more hydrated and better and now it’s been 4 years and I’m about to go get IV done! Remember to bring a blanket or warm jacket cause iv makes you feel colder cause of the cold salt water
Great content, so informative Dr. thank you!
I think she's coming from a great place focusing on safety and health. She wasn't over dramatic and simple stated the fact, this was to be informative overall. Thanks doc great info
Dr. Jen, I've done my research on both you and IV hydration therapy as I am current customer of a hydration spa. I do have gastrointestinal concerns that my doctors were treating with medications that made me feel worse and brought about the needs for other medications to counteract the side effects of the first medication. Within the last two years I was feeling like absolute death and would go to my general practitioner as well as my specialist who both ran extensive tests and found no causes. I personally knew that I was dehydrated but the medical offices tests kept saying I wasn't. With no answers and tests that showed my hydration levels were fine, I decided to abandon my pharmaceuticals and try hydration therapy and I am glad I did. I discussed with the staff what my concerns had been and we tailor made a bag to address the issues. Since receiving the treatment I feel amazing, almost half my age with the same energy and my mental health has improved as well my alcohol intake (I now prefer to drink less). There are studies from Harvard medical on IV therapy and even the FDA has amended Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to cover drug compounding in these places. I have an astronomical amount of information and data in this subject because I like to know what I am putting in my body and the concerns surrounding it. I know why you are clueless to all of this, It's because you are more concerned with money and fame not your concern for you fellow being or your interest in furthering your medical knowledge. I love your website https://www.drjencaudle.com/ great self promotion. BTW You hydrate faster through IV because it happens on a cellular level whereas hydration by drinking and eating still has to be absorbed through the digestive tract and then to the necessary areas. Another drawback with drinking or absorption is that the body can only absorb so much at once before expelling what can't be absorbed, meaning that you possibly expel half of every glass of water that you drink. Hopefully you've learned a bit from this and again, I bid you good luck on your journey to stardom but do us all a favor and leave the medical profession or educate yourself better.
Good information but I'm an icu nurse and have been 10 years almost and we give banana bag and other vitamins for alcohol intoxication and dehydration. I hope and pray these IV clinics are ran by nurses, doctors, PAs , NPs who knows how to do a thorough assessment and make sure people with CHF and kidney problems do not get this rapid fluid. It should only be limited to healthy adults who need a pick me up so they can avoid hospitals and overcrowd the ER
Thanks for sharing the risks and benefits though
There is just one thing, tho, and that is drinking water should rehydrate you but it doesn't. I am chronically dehydrated (as told to me by my MD) but drinking water (8-10 glasses every day) seems to make me more dehydrated and my skin gets drier and drier. I even add minerals to my water-no difference. I go back to the Dr. and I tell him how much water I am drinking and I can tell he doesn't believe me because he says I am still dehydrated! I have considered going to one of these spas to get IV (normal saline only) treatment to see if it would really rehydrate me. You can drink a gallon of water a day and it will not rehydrated you. You're a doctor, so you tell me, why I am still dehydrated?! If water doesn't do it, then what does? What are we supposed to drink then?
Thank you so much for this informative video ❤
IV is IV 130 bill or over a 1500 bill for the same thing
It's so deeply concerning to see a common Doctor like her say such ignorant things as though she knows nothing about basic health.
Many doctors recommended it to me and I tried it yesterday and feel amazing. I haven't felt this good in at least 15 years.
what are the risks of getting IV? I think much greater risk of overprescribing narcotics and antibiotics in family practice settings
They do cure hangovers instantly, headache went away and I feel refreshed you literally drinking water through blood might even need the bathroom. I the effects are faster than drinking water especially if u don’t drink often . Try getting through Insurence at sinus doctor . By law they can’t have non license and the do screen you
She don’t know what she’s talking about
My doctor thinks it's great
they work great with no side effects only if you get preservitve free IVS and injectionst!!! they have those with just pure vitamins.. Dont use ones with preservitives!! they can people very bad pain for weeks after very bad side effects. it happened to me, most places use preservitives, but you can find places they use none most places dont tell u that info, your body is not ment to have preservitives so your body cant reject them there in your bloodstream 100 percent. so you body inflames and puts your body in tons pain and cramps for weeks!! make sure were u go there are 100 present no preservitives and no benzl alcohl some places forget that it is also a preservitive!!
Urgent care took my wife money and gave her flownaise. She still got the whooping cough. I went got the vit c drip and vit d3 shot and I shook back to normal the next day. No more cough or restricted breathing that stopped me from saying a complete sentence in an conversation. She still says 3 words and cough.
Yes ma’am.. The one I go to is ran by a doctor.. His passion for remedies and holistic practices is amazing.. I love him because he takes the time go through your assessment and it’s not a cash cow for him..
So here’s the catch our foods are not delivering the nutrients that we need.. Our FDA has failed us.. I think this is amazing.. We as a people are depleted of the nutrients which is causing health issues.. I would suggest choosing a spa that is run by a doctor.. Mine is amazing..
Some are covered by insurance
I do not think that a video should be made about “these IV places” as you refer to them before actually doing sound research about the business or at least going to an IV hydration facility to get information about their infrastructure. Yiu are judging the competency of medical professionals that have these businesses because they do not have MD behind their names. Most of not all IV hydration businesses must have a Medical Director or collaborative physician on contract in order to operate. So are you making assumptions that these doctors aren’t competent? Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioners are competent to provide these services. There is also research around IV vitamins and benefits. I ask you to dig deeper before doing a video of this caliber
Ya, she does NOT have all the facts here. She is also failing to miss the point of IV nutritional therapy 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Many do NOT absorb or have the ability to uptake the amount of vitamins that are ingested PO, thus leaving smaller amounts ACTUALLY entering the blood stream.
Your a Dr. of what & from what credited institution???? You worked in what hospital/medical settings???
