You should talk about scabies
I agree with the Dove bar (unscented). I've been using it for years. As an eczema sufferer, this is the only bar my skin can tolerate. Thank you, Dr Huberman and Dr Soleymani for discussing a plethora of information about skin health. I can't believe this is all for free! Love lots from the Philippines!
Not necessarily related to this episode. But would love to hear a podcast about Lymphatic Drainage, lymphatic massage, how it relates to immune system and overall feeling less bloated, increase circulation etc
"when we first studied retinoids in oral or cream version we notice that these can affect the development of a fetus and they can be passed through breast milk and through sperm or semen"
There is no strong evidence to suggest that retinoids are transmitted through sperm or semen in a way that would affect fetal development. While retinoids can impact pregnancy outcomes, their storage in sperm and transmission during fertilization is not considered a recognized risk. This is an important consideration for males using acitretin.
The recommendation for males to use contraception during acitretin treatment and for 3 months after discontinuation is a precaution to prevent potential teratogenic risks to a female partner. This advice is primarily due to etretinate, the long-lasting metabolite of acitretin, which can remain in the body (and semen) for an extended period. Although the risk is low, this precaution is taken to minimize even the smallest chance of fetal harm.
The 3-month guideline is based on the drug’s residual presence in the body and its metabolism. After this period, the specific risk to a developing embryo from sperm transmission is considered minimal, as the metabolite is likely cleared from the body by then.
Any recommendation for age spots or dark spots 😅
Please talk about Accutane!
Great episode. Question: Is there any benefit to sleeping under a red light? I’ve searched for a timestamp, but can’t find where it’s been addressed specifically.
👌😊✨️👍
I tuned in for the Psoriasis piece specially but ended up in the Chemo category with a loved one out of the blue and would love some/any advice Dr Teo has specifically on post chemo skin treatment? Much respect gents, a stunning show 🙌
Stop glorifying cruelty. Meat is not needed for great skin. Get a dermat who is veg and you'll c a different version of how the antibiotics and hormones in meat can ruin your skin. Beauty at the cost of killing a life aint worth it.
❤
Don't waste almost 3 hours just use sunscreen and drink plenty of water ❤
What do you do when your doctor and dermatologist can’t figure out the problem? I have chronic, severe flushing. It’s not the look that bothers me, it’s the burning/fever like sensation I get. It’s on my face, ears, and arms. I’ve been dealing with this for about 5 years and sometimes feel like I’m going to lose my mind. Most of the time I have to remind myself to stay calm, watch what you eat, etc. I don’t know what to do. Now, I’m also a swim instructor and indoor lifeguard. I LOVE my job but don’t know how to protect my skin, much less if it will do any good. I’m 53 and part of the problem is rosacea the rest, I don’t know. I have CREST syndrome and chronic migraines as well.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
feels like anyone who calls acne "fascinating" has never truly suffered from it themselves. The severe type is nothing I'd wish on anyone.
Can anyone recommend a sunscreen ? Tia❤
I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this: if retinoids dry out the skin/reduce the oil production, wouldn't that be a bad thing? Don't we need our skin oils? Especially as we get older? How can that be good for our skin?
Noone should get gardasil. Its an insanely dangerous medical therapy.
5:55 how much skin turns over?

Doc how long can I take retinoid tablets I mean is there a period after which one shuld give it a brk or ?
At 55, I am told I look much younger, a student at a class I was teaching said I look 35 😊. This is what I do: I use retinol (not over my eyelids) every second or third evening, and vitamin C, i use red light therapy, micro current (Nuface but zip may be superior) , an amazing neck cream, of course copper serum every few days (very inexpensive, I use the ordinary) also a few serums, and I do consume hydrolyzed collagen, vitamin D , and I try to drink a good amount of water and exercise regularly, and I try to sleep on my back (I have a special pillow to help with this) hyaluronic acid is ok but it will suck the moisture out if u are in a dry climate, so slather moisture on top, also… some people like snail mucin for extra moisture or there are a few other good serums (esp Korean. Finds like beauty of Joseon), I haven’t tried NEWA yet for jaw laxity but I will try soon, laser treatments can be good too like Fraxel esp for under the eyes. For dry eyes, surprisingly, in addition to a heat mask and preservative free eye drops, caster oil, and the eyelets surprisingly seems to help lastly, I forget the name for it, but if you have quite dry eyes as I do, you can put your eye cream on and then put an ointment on top , Dr Dray recommends this , and it so works ! (Even Vaseline, if u have nothing else, will work). Yours in glass skin, cheers 🥂
being in the sunshine is amazing .I use spf on face but let the sun on rest of my body
Bro, Ive been using Retinoids for last 4 years everyday. Thank god i havent tried to have children 😮💨 they need to put this shit on the label.
how could you say "everyone should be on retinoids" and then mention that it can have effects on fetuses? seems a pretty big downside
Two beautiful, highly intelligent human beings ! Thank you for information you are sharing!!!! ❤❤❤❤
When skin cancer and deaths are not driven by sun exposure, how do you explain that in countries with very intense sun (like Australia) have such high skin cancer rates?
Thanks!
Imagine if people in politics knows as much about economics and sociology as this guy knows ab skin
As a mother, whose child went all the way through the eczema journey, I learned it is caused by systemic yeast overgrowth that starts in the gut. Many dermatologist only know what they have been trained to understand. Our pediatrician prescribed an antibiotic for a stuffy nose, and recommended PediaSure/sugar as a dietary supplement at the same time. This killed the good bacteria, while feeding the bad which lead to leaky gut that causes eczema. I took my daughter to all the best doctors in Houston at Texas Children’s Hospital. After years of listening to the best dermatologist and allergy specialist that were giving her 5 different prescriptions and watching her progressively get worse, she did not improve until until we were given the proper guidance by a functional medicine practitioner that was knowledgeable about nutrition. We discontinued all Rx and followed a yeast free, low, glycemic Paleo diet. In three months she was cured. I literally had to go on lockdown and not let any family or friends intervene. I was also in contempt of court, keeping her away from her father with police knocking on my door. But she did heal and we have helped so many others suffering from Eczema with our story.
Although holistic cures are not profitable, most mild eczema cases can be cured by eliminating sugar and eating some garlic.
I brought a book Savef Skin by Marzia Rahmani, UK beauty therapist and skincare product expert, she wrote how it alcohol creates photosensitivity !! wow I use to use AHA's without thinking the effects plus other points in the book! I have changed my diet stopped alcohol, and only use Savef skin essential serum it's amazing easy and hydration! non comediogentic too I rarely use moisturizer just this serum! my skin also feels more resilient outdoors! brand name is Real Skin Retinue
I’m a life long eczema sufferer and absolutely appreciate wonderful topic covered. I’m switching my diet to a higher protein beef intake hopefully it will help my overall health.. and will give Sun powder a try You’re the Dr Huberman. 🫶🏻
Is red light therapy okay to do while on prescription RetinA ?
What the internal sun shield he uses can we get the product please
1:40:21 I was under the impression we have radio-tagged collagen before oral consumption and later found those molecule incorporated into the body’s collagenous tissue…
Is sunlight good for you? Honestly. How is that even a question. Like debating if being in the water is good for fish.
This guy drives me nuts. He thinks the way to actively listen is to say "yeah" every 5 seconds.
