tried it and works perfectly, but it can be all between 3 and 12 minutes to steam. depending on size.

This is how I've always cooked my mundu except I start by throwing the dumplings, water and oil in the pan all at once and cover with lid until its soft, then remove lid so the water cooks out and let it brown in the remaining oil. Much easier.
