Great thank you ππ»
Fear is harder than shame if I'm afraid I've threatened my job/career. Shame is harder if I fear I'll get kicked out from a social group. And… I think that when I overshare my true self, I fear it tarnishes the image of my ideal self. Thank you for this video! It is very calming.
So nice to 'unpack' in plain english all these feelings/terms that I would only normally would sense otherwise as an overall vague intuition. This video/teaching really makes me able to more clearly think about each situation that may come up that feels like a vulnerability hangover and then be able to assess and acknowledge my feelings /actions accordingly. #sovaluable It's just seems all too easy for me to just 'ignore' all the feelings and sum it up as some vague intuition. So much BETTER to do the work of going through the paces of exactly how I'm feeling, question why and then process it thoroughly.
Hey Meadow, answering your question, I'd have to say that Fear is harder for me than Shame for a few reasons. At least with Shame, I took action and put myself out there and for whatever reason, it didn't go over well. Where with Fear, there's a debilitating, stagnating feeling that accompanies inaction. And with Fear, the stories we make up in our heads about 'what might or could happen' are so blown out of proportion that it increases the fear for this particular thing and unfortunately for all similar things to come. Fear is a self-perpetuating cycle that compounds and increases when left unchecked. Of course, shame is a rotten feeling, but at least there was an element of having tried. And it is in the 'taking action' that some satisfaction is felt. π
Hey Meadow, good to see you here π
