Im getting a feeling that ty Gibbs is probably gonna be like Kyle busch in 2010-2024, where people hate him at first but overtime fans starts to like him.
One thing to remember about Zane Smith and the 71 car- from what I understand that is a 100% new team with an entirely new crew/cars/ and a first time crew chief. Combined with a rookie it has been a disaster so far. The 7 and 77 were Spire teams last year so they had something to grow on. Zane did better last year in part time and fill in roles and even got a top 10 in the 600- so he can drive these cars.
One thing I hate about Nascar is alot of it is luck. Too many good drivers get wrecked out by bad drivers. It's a crap shoot if u make it thru. But overall the more u learn about racing in general , the more Nascar looks better..
Deegan is still a 20th place car. That hadnt changed.

Jr. knows he never had "TOP TEN" talent. Without Dale senior's influence, support, and money, Jr. would always, at best, be average.
Jr. knew he'd never win races without the best, most expensive equipment.
Sr. knew Jr would be able to live very well, even with average ability, on Senior's legacy.
Earnhardt Sr wanted to leave DEI to his #3 wife, Teresa. Sr never wanted Jr to inherit DEI.

Earnhardt Jr. was never #1. Just look at his Cup Championships and Rookie of the Year title in his 1st Cup season. But, Jr. never did these. Jr. never was in a "Chase" until 2004 when the rules were changed so low talent, highly popular, massively funded drivers would be in the Chase.

Eric, another down for Busch is 3 straight races that he has finished outside the top 20, phoenix was a speed problem but Bristol and Vegas has been pit road issues and some issues on the track, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to the 8 team if they want to win, and as a KB fan this is very frustrating, we should be running in the top 10-15 consistently, not 20-30.
Bold prediction: Suarez makes it all the way to the round of 8.

I agree with your take on SVG mate. I think he’s done pretty damn well considering he has never driven ovals before. I also see a lot of people discount some of his positions because of other people wrecking in the race. I think from watching him he just lets other people wreck themselves, and he stays out of trouble, and then when he needs to push hard and make up positions on the Last Run, he does so. I hope he has two good races this weekend at Cota and I can’t wait to watch both of them. 🙂

Here’s an early season surprise that’s flown under the radar: Justin Haley’s time at RWR. Through 5 races, Haley’s average finish is 22.8. That’s 5 positions better than Cody Ware’s start last year. He’s also 4 points back from Daniel Hemric for 25th in points, and his average finishes are similar. I predicted Haley would finish in the top 25 in points before the season started. If he keeps this up, he just might

KBs pit crew is honestly the worst I've ever seen from a top team. Even in Bristol, after Busch wrecked with the flat tire, they got 2 pit road penalties, both the fault of the crew. They literally had an entire race to just go through the motions and not be flashy, not require top tier pit stop speed, but they couldn't even just go through the motions. They seriously need to swap the 3 and 8 crew. Austin Dillon's season is already over, he can have the bad crew.
