Very informative….thank you all!
After covid 2020 I had post exertional malaise for months and it was relieved by quetiapine and fluvoxamine. I got much better and back to exercise. After the vaccines and a one time" spiritual " drug mescaline my body went into a crash of the nervous system 2022. I was diagnosed after a year with small fiber neuropathy, POTS and dysautonomia. I tried several antidepressants, the one that helped but also worsens my symptoms was Venlafaxine as well as removing clonazepam completely made my chronic fatigue and dysautonomia worst. I got a sleep study and I was not reaching the deep state sleep and I had sleep apnea, which now I use a cpap device and I improved somehow. Now that I took a more holistic path such as hiperbaric chamber, infrared light therapy and meditation I can see in this video the importance of deep sleep and it's effects on healing and recovery of the nervous system. From videos like this I have learned that in dysautonomia case /long covid /vaccination there MIGHT be a dysymune problem affecting my nervous system, microclots, systemic impaired oxygen extraction and a metabolic dysfunction. All of those syndromes, symtpoms and problems are worsened, improved, go into remission or heal with good sleep as well as food, stress free environment and other factors. Thank you for the valuable information! This helps me a lot to rethink and discuss with the doctor further options you have mentioned.
Propagating Benzodiazepines for sleep problems and saying he doesn’t experience tolerance and dependence. He might want to check in on numbers of benzo dependence and visit a rehab to see for himself.
Benzos are also mast cell stabilizers
I’m hyper mobile, have full body neuropathy and dysautonomia on top of a thirty year old spinal cord injury. Much of my pain these days is burning, which isn’t easy to control with medication, but for decades I had severe back and leg pain below my injury. I’ve also suffered for years with trigeminal neuralgia. Besides head to toe burning, I have neuropathic itch. All my peripheral nerves, inside and out, are sick.
I’m finally having a sleep study in a few weeks. For more than fifteen years, I’ve only slept for three of four hour hours, at most, usually interrupted. Now it’s two- I go to sleep about 10PM, and wake up at midnight. When I’m falling asleep, there’s a revving of the heart and a need to vocalize if I don’t want to move. This is usually repetitive. These are DEFINITELY waking me up.
Oddly, I’m wide awake after sleeping two hours and can’t recall any wake up process, I’m just awake again. If I happen to manage five hours or more, which happens a few times a month, THEN I’m tired.
I totally agree with your findings thankyou for your intelligent research and therapy.
Doesn’t Propranolol decrease melatonin? When is the best time to take it so sleep won’t be impacted?
There is no sleep. There are no Drs
I can't tell you how grateful I am that I found this video.
Thank you for this. My general practitioner told me that the root of my issues was anxiety and that I just needed cognitive behavioral therapy. I pushed to see a neurologist out of my network and finally got the suggestions to take propranolol, nortryptaline and he was the one who recognized my hEDS along with my immunologist. Your information in this video helped me decide against Zolpidem (also prescribed by my GP) as I was worried about taking that living alone but also because of any residual impairment. I’m sincerely grateful for doctors who think outside the box to help us find a better quality of life.
No mention about cannibus ? Plus or minus ?
Can I use bisoprolol for the night time adrenaline? I am currently taking it in the morning, but my sleep is always extremely shallow. Will shifting this betablocker at bedtime help with the sleep?
as a mast cell patient (along with the rest :P) the discussion of gen 2 antihistamines being designed not to cross the BBB was just a huge epiphany. gonna have to try out some hydroxyzine. speaking of mast cells, anyone discovered a sleep monitor that doesn't induce skin irritation yet? because that has stopped me from using my garmin regularly (though i suspect it's less accurate anyway)
Thank you! I never get deep sleep and have worn Fitbit for years. I had a sleep study ordered and had many surgeries so I will be getting it done. I was diagnosed with autonomic insufficiency when I was 17 and back then was treated with an alpha blocker. Well fast forward to now, I’m passing out at the dentist. ( I had a fast positive tilt table test when I was 17) 2
Dentists say I need a sedation dentist and must be put under. I can’t locate one. I can’t be put in a down position and need a lot of dental work done. My blood
Pressure is 95/55.
wait how was it that you tested a persons adrenaline through out the time ? also i stopped antidepressants around 10 months ago i was extremely anxious 24 /7 and my sleep changed . i would fall asleep but feel like im awake. id wake up with anxiety through the roof where i would have to shout just to feel slightly better. i was improving a little but covid hit me around a month ago and it set everything back in motion and i also got brain fog with it as well.
its been told that long covid and acute covid causes neuro inflammation and long causes dysautonomia, i did see that i have a blood pressure drop when i stand up and my heart rate goes up about 35 ppm.
do i have dysautonomia ? and how do i treat it ? i love the results you shown but with out sleep and non stop anxiety , no work . im not getting rest but I'm not really having too much work stress. what should i do? im in australia ..
What a great doctor who seems to actually listen to his patients and work with them, because after all we are the experts on us and the doctor is the expert on the disease. Great, informative presentation.
Is there anyone got Dysautonomia after getting Covid? I got the symptoms after omicron hit me. And I’m a foreigner is there anyway I can get treatment?
Thank you so much for this amazing information!
Can I get the power point slides for this?
