Knowledge. Humility. Delivery. Humour. Yup, all there. Please carry on Sir Adam.
Hi from one of the “happy few” who listened all the way.
I love your deep dives, both the detailed explanation of the basic elements in the beginning and the examination of the facts and research into the topic, in this case the miracle (?) that is B12. My husband was prescribed B12 supplements because he has dementia. The doctor said “It can’t hurt, and it might help.” Makes perfect sense. My Mom had a large part of her colon removed due to cancer. She was told she couldn’t absorb enough B12 because of that and was given B12 injections routinely for years. Now I wonder if that was nonsense.
Thank you again! (BTW – I am 71. According to you not your usual viewer.
You feed my brain, and for that I am grateful.
)
Very fascinating topic!
23:45 it do be like that- The rant is so spot on- self aware yet fed up with not being given direct answers.
Does it matter if B12 is in tablet form or gummies for better absorption? I have B12 gummies I take daily.
B-12 is not “hip”. If you are 100% vegan, you absolutely need B-12 supplements. It’s no joke. Major health hazard to dismiss it. I stopped taking it for a few months, thinking it’s no big deal.
And after an annual check up, my doctor called me directly on my mobile, to say my level was dangerously low, that I needed an injection right away. Btw, the better choice for B-12 tablets is methylcobalamin. Preferred over cyanocobalamin.

When you prefaced the horrible Jack and Fam tragedy I was concerned that he referred to someone or something with the word dwarf. No lie. I’m laughing at myself, it’s perfectly ok for you to also.
Crockpot of taco meat in the bathroom? Like why? Just why?

A 44 min. video on B12. I don't have time to watch that! But Adam is always interesting, I'll just watch for a few minutes. 44 min later…. Wow, that was fascinating!
Thank you so much! The information is really very helpful and I have learned a lot!
What defines whether or not a vitamin is a B vitamin and not something else?
Edit: partial answer at 32:50
people that party lots and come into the hospital al messed up are also the kind of people huffing N2O or laughing gas till they pass out and then some. which happens to inactivate B12 stores and can thus cause neurological dmg.
Aahhh I love you Adam! Stay safe sir
Is there any health risks associated with vitamin B-12 being in the upper range?
I think I see your eyebrows thinning on the outside, Adam. Could be vitamin A, B 7-12, C, E, D, or zinc deficiency.
Some of the vitamers of niacin seem to reverse aging in lab mice, but might increase cancer risk (if you keep cells from wearing out, sometimes they live long enough to become cancer).
Also, one of the vitamers of cobalamin is an antidote for cyanide poisoning.
Alcohol (over)consumption is connected to vitamin B1 deficiency and coming off alcohol can give you a Korsakov Syndrome which can be prevented with- you guessed right- vitamin B1. Alcoholic also tend to be deficient on other B vitamins and, because many of them get chronic gastritis, they are more likely to get B12 deficiency (lack of intrinsic factor because that type of cells in the stomach got damaged). So when we do Alcohol detox, we always offer the patients high doses of B1, a multivitamin B complex and check their B12 levels.
Ragusea seems like he's on something here…
zero ultra monster drinks have b12 so u can get b12 from that if ur vegan tho theres healthier ways
As a carrier for the genes that cause hemochromatosis, incould use a little anemia!
I donate blood regularly, drink tea eith meals.. just to try and keep down iron levels.
I love your content, Adam! I’m a vegan and of course I take b12 supplements, not doing so is just plain stupid. I’m so frustrated by the „annoying vegan“ (or the annoying vegan stereotype? I don’t know) – there’s really plenty of vegans with a very scientific and evidence-based approach to nutrition, and the environmental impact of food choices. well I hope I’m not sounding annoying now. I just don’t want to be lumped in with these conspiracy theorists and idiots
This video was SO much louder than the last one I was watching
The most hip worthy vitamin should be D
The most underrated vitamin.
The arch enemy of the health industry
i dont understand how one podcast can justify two sponsor reads. its not even an hour long.
i pay for youtube premium to avoid sitting through ads while still paying creators. ill bare with you for one ad read bc microphones are expensive but man. this is tok much. the overhead on a podcast just cant justify one third of the runtime being sponsored ad reads.
To be fair, almost no regular doctors know anything about nutrition or the importance of gut health. You do have to do your own research and not blindly trust. It's your health, not your doctor's.
Grapefruit? Enjoy that until you have to take drugs like Flowmax, Adam.
Very informative episode, thank you for your work
My grandmother is taking metformin and lately she's been feeling weak and I started giving her vitamin b supplements and now she's feeling much better
