I think it's just that your expectations of life are higher now, but your way of living is way better. It's a bit ignorant to complain, when you wouldn't like if you lived in your old living conditions again

I've met a NK defector in the UK for a company I was working for. He said he misses his family, friends, the smell of the markets, the places he grew up and that he wishes to visit one day if possible. You don't get to choose where you make your childhood memories. Those memories and nostalgia and sense of longing will follow you to your very last day.

Tbh with you… It's difficult for these north Koreans to get accepted in a highly competitive society like that of south korean.. Where neglect of little things such as how to laugh or yout looks can really effect or determine the position in social pyramid of this society which is full of insecurity to the micro-est level…

So….basically despite SK now techonocially advanced, but they're still very much so developing in terms of having an empathetic society that doesn't discriminate against different classes of people. If they treat their own brethren from the North this way, I don't even want to know how they treat distinct minorities of different races.

I think people focus so much on North Korean propaganda that they forget US propaganda exists. We are victims of the same issues.

Both Korea and Japan have rather stuffy society to begin with.

It is 2025 and big international channels like these still do only use imperial system. How is this possible, it takes literally 3 seconds to convert with google and another 5 to incorporate the number in the video.
